  1. I’m honored to be mentioned among these resources Rachel! Thank you.

  2. Hi Rachel. I just wanted to say a big thank you for putting these resources together. I found your blog accidentially on Twitter a few months back and I have enjoyed getting your regular updates since then. I am a (self-proclaimed!) radical social worker in Ireland. Macro social work doesn’t exist here neither does community organising. And these two areas are where I very much want to work. However, in my everyday practice as a micro social worker in mental health I consistently and constantly (to the annoyance of everyone) advocate for a macro approach to social work, for a community development approach to social work, for a social work that critiques the neo-liberal model and actually addresses issues of poverty, human rights and equality (for example) instead of paying lip service to these as it currently does (in Ireland at least). I advocate for a social work that aligns itself with service users not the state or bureaucratic organisations. Having access to resources like the ones you posted are vital for people like me, who are working in places that never even had radical social work to begin with!

    • Thank you for the kind words, they are much appreciated. I love hearing from followers especially when they find a post helpful. It is also fascinating to hear about the state of Social Work profession outside the US. You may want to also check out socialworkhelper.com. It is a social networking site that aims to connect Social Workers from around the world.
