A couple of days ago a Tumblr follower asked me for some advice about applying to an MSW program. This gave me the idea to put together a small list of resources for perspective (and current) social work students.

A social networking site for helping professionals, socialworkhelper.com also has an informative blog that covers a number of topics through a social work lens. They also host Social Work Chats, a weekly twitter chat that takes place every Monday at 8 PM EST.
The New Social Worker
This is the online site for The New Social Worker Magazine. The site also offers a job board and book store.
National Association of Social Workers
NASW is the largest professional social work association in the US. They are the body responsible for crafting the professions code of ethics. The have a special membership rate for students, but you do not need to be a member to access the code of ethics.
International Federation of Social Workers
The IFSW provides a global voice for the social work profession. They hold special consultative status with the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Economic and Social Council of The United Nations.
I think you mean “prospective.”

Hey this is a pretty cool resource for prospective social workers too, it includes salary information and requirements for becoming a social worker in all 50 states.
